My Goals for High School

My goals for high school is split up into four different parts: physical, mental, spiritual, and social.

My physical goal for high school is to become stronger through all the sports I do. My metal goal is to gain more knowledge from all the classes I go to. My spiritual goal is to come closer to God as I learn about Him more. And my social goal is to gain more friends so I can live a happier a life.

If I can accomplish my goals, then it would really help me out as a college student and as an adult. By setting these goals, I have something to look forward to in the future. If I don't accomplish my goals. . . well, lets not say anything about that right now.

Inspirational Quote

"If one does not attach himself to people and desires, never shall his heart be broken. But then, does he ever truly live? I would rather die a mortal, who has a care for someone, than a man free from his own death."-- Lu Yan

I got this quote off of a movie called "The Forbidden Kingdom." Lu Yan was one of the 8 drunken immortals who was called to help save a kingdom. He was played by Jackie Chan. This quote inspires me because it tells me that you should care for other people rather than yourself. I would rather die to protect someone than to live with regret and sadness or live a terrible life without any friends. It tells me that being with other people can make a person happy in his/her life, but living emotionless won't tell you what living is about. I might not be explaining this very well, you think about what this quote tells you.

My Life as a Martial Artist (Very Short)

When I was about six or seven years old, my dad and siblings showed me all these Bruce Lee, Jet Li, and Jackie Chan movies. When I saw them, I was like, "whoa that's really cool! How do they do that? I wish I could fight like that!" My mom realized that I was very interested in martial arts, so she told me about a place called Kuk-Sool-Won of Peoria. Kuk-Sool-Won is a ancient, traditional, Korean martial art that is not very known to a lot of people. This type of martial art is really cool. What I was doing in training is like what they do in the movies, only better. I have been training since I was 10.

When I moved, It made it really difficult for me to continue my training, so I haven't trained in a long time. But I am trying my best to bring my training back up. I made it so close to becoming a black belt, and I'm not going to let that slip away. I am currently one belt below black belt. But if I put my mind to it, I believe I can accomplish becoming a black belt. "I am strong, I am smart, and good at heart." -- In Hyuk Suh (Grandmaster of Kuk-Sool-Won)
